It was good to have the Bishop come with us to WYD Madrid. He was always inspiring and fun to have around. We celebrated Sunday Mass on a cruise ship. The Gospel that Sunday was ironically the calming of the storm. Some people needed to hear that because they were afraid of being on the ship. The greatest message, however, was from the first reading. Where is God? He is in the silence. When we are afraid or caught up in the turbulence of the rough seas of life, God whispers in our ears. If we seek out the silence, we find rest and peace.
Fr. Maurice was great as well. Life is always great for him. He is the only person I know who can fly half way across the world to meet the Pope and, when you ask him his most memorable story will say, "We were the number 1 bathroom cleaning team!"
