3rd Ordination Anniversary

I love being a priest. Almost 3 years ago, June 19, 2012, I was the first priest ordained by Bishop Albert Thévènot on the feast of the Sacred Heart; the patronal feast of the diocese of Prince Albert. A nifty aside: because the feast of the Sacred Heart is a movable feast and therefore occurs on a different day each year, I actually have two feast days! June 19th by the day, but the feast of the Sacred Heart spiritually. This year the feast of the Sacred Heart is June 15, which is this Friday.

And now on to the reason for this post. I was late posting this but as of June 11th, which still exists as I write this, one could begin a novena ending on my anniversary. I am basically requesting prayers, more than just a Hail Mary, but a bit of a dedication of prayers. Do whatever you want but if you could either pray a novena for me or offer an hour of adoration this Friday on the Sacred Heart or even Saturday, the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Being a priest is not easy. And being a good priest is downright impossible. I have so much sin and fault and too many personal struggles to count. Recently people have been praying for me and it has been bearing fruits. Not that all of a sudden everything is good, but that I am becoming more aware of my abundant weaknesses; I am going to have to apologize to many people.

In conclusion, I guess I am saying I need help. First, spiritually, but in many other ways. Please come visit, call, whatever!

Love you all :)

Fr. Travis
